One of my favorite sayings is: Today is a good day to have a GOOD DAY! It might seem pretty optimistic on such a gloomy, cold day like today, but as Christians, we know that our happiness isn’t determined by the weather. A sense of peace and contentment can be had on even the dreariest of days. How?
In Philippians 4:4-7, Paul was writing to the Christians in Philippi from a Roman prison. He was chained to Roman guards, yet he was able to encourage them to “Rejoice in the Lord alway, and again I say, Rejoice.” Not once, but twice he emphasizes that we can always rejoice IN the Lord. He goes on to say, “Be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.” The only way to be CAREFUL FOR NOTHING is to be PRAYERFUL FOR EVERYTHING! “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Yes, we can find that wonderful peace and happiness at any time through Christ Jesus.
