The Outcome. . .

Have you ever come up something that you thought was the “greatest idea since sliced bread?” Did you create a unique opportunity for someone to step up and soar? You sacrificed to “make it happen.” You thought of everything. . .Yet, the opposite happened. Perhaps they misunderstood the concept. Maybe they thought their idea was better than yours or they could have planned on taking advantage of the opportunity you provided, but just not now – they’d do it later. How would you feel? Would you be sad? disappointed? frustrated? You know, all you can do is provide the opportunity – you can’t control the outcome.

I wonder if God feels this way. His idea was to make a way for mankind to go to heaven to live for eternity with Him. Man was lost in sin, and the “wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23) But He had a plan. Jesus explained, “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10) This plan took years to put into place. Paul explained, “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law. (Galatians 4:4) Why would He do such a thing? There was an amazing reason – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) How do you think God feels when man believes that he knows better than God does? Do we ever put off obeying what we know we should do – thinking that we can do it later? Or can we? Maybe or maybe not – “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” (James 4:14)

God gave us His plan in His Word. He also gave us the ability to choose to follow that plan or not. He provided the opportunity. It’s up to us to determine the outcome! May you make the right choice! God Bless, Courtney
